Personal Introduction

Good day! My name is Leianne Rhya O. Mansilla, and I am currently a grade 11 student at Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School. Upon encountering youth violence, I realized that it often occurs these days and continue to occur everywhere. With these encounters, it taught me to open my eyes and see how severe this issue has become, which sparked my interest in how it works in terms of justice. This issue continues to concern me in how youth violence works in juvenile justice, especially to those minors who cannot get punished due to the their age. Although it offers to protect young individuals, it is also often abused by many. With this, minors are driven to do these acts because they know that the law can protect them. I believe that the government should lower the age bracket so that this law can not only help but also prevent usage abuse. I hope to continue learning, advocate for a cause, and engage with others who are willing to make change which can lead us to a better path for everyone.
