Good morning, my name is Steffany Dacy C. Amontos from 11 Kasui. As a daughter of a man who works in the field of security, I have witnessed calls discussing the punishment of those minors who steal from grocery stores. One notable information from most cases mentioned came from poverty. This is proven by the kids themselves, as they are consulted with their parents, they are all quick to apologize and claim that they had no choice.
Youth violence and juvenile justice is an ongoing issue, growing just as fast as the poverty in our country. This not only threatens the child’s future, but also the people around them. The juvenile justice system struggles with finding the right solutions for such issues, because youth violence range from simple bullying, youth violence can also involve robbery or murder, but through legal frameworks, education, and mental health services, the juvenile justice system aims to promote long-term change.
Personally, for me, preventing youth violence requires early intervention and strong community programs, not just reliance on the justice system. Addressing the root causes of youth violence can prevent crimes before they happen. Investing in education, mental health awareness, and mentorship is the key to real long-term change.
